Courtesy of Bus Stop Bible Studies, I found myself confronted with the following question today while driving down Dufferin Street:

What would it take to convince you of God’s love?
To start, it would be useful to know that God actually existed. I feel that this is a fair prerequisite condition to be met before I could be convinced that God actually loves me.
Second, it would help if God talked to me on occasion. It’s really hard to know if somebody loves you when they’re never around, and don’t even bother to write or call.
Your move, God.

Hi Mitchell,
When you wrote “Your move, God.” (March 24th) did you actually address your comment to God or to your readers?
If you were sincere in your comment I am sure God has already answered. If your comment was directed to your readers I suspect you were met with deafening silence! God looks at the heart!
When Paul penned the words you refer to on the study, it was not wishful thinking. I can echo his words with absolute conviction.
If you are indeed sincere in ‘hearing from God’ may I suggest the following:
Tell Him (prayer).
Read the four Gospel messages in the Bible.
Buy yourself a copy of THE SHACK by William Younge.
Please let me know how it goes.
David
I guess it would be both, wouldn’t it? An omnipotent God surely knows what I’m writing in this blog.
I’m still waiting, if you’re wondering.
Yes, I am positve God knows everything about you.
When it comes to waiting, I think God has already done His bit and he’s waiting on you… Revelation 3:20.
Happy hunting! [hunting - the activity of diligently seeking in order to find something or someone]
David
PS If God did actually reveal Himself in a manner that would convince you of His existence, what would your reaction to Him be?
Curiosity.
If that’s all you’re prepared to offer I think you will have a long, long wait. I think He’s looking for a relationship.
Then I’ll wait.
